Shorten or lengthen the “thwack” and decay of percussive signals such as kick drum, snare, and toms. Or, easily remove unwanted mic bleed, or expand the room sound of overheads.

The SPL Transient Designer plug-in is indispensable for a variety of instruments. You can enhance a piano’s delicacy by reducing a noisy attack, or add length to ringing chords. On acoustic guitar, you can accentuate or reduce the picking sound, depending on the part. The SPL Transient Designer also gives you control over the environment of a source.     It's amazing

    It's amazing. Just giving a touch to the controls you add more presence to the instrument or the voice even, for a snare it is phenomenal

    Finally got the fingerpicking acoustic guitar sound I've been missing.

    The transient designer allows me to get the punch and attack I need on finger style acoustic and Travis style picking without over compressing. Also tightens up the bass, kick and snare again without over compression letting you get the punch and keep the dynamics. I wish I had bought it sooner.

    So simple but so tasty!

    I just love the SPL Transient Designer. I’ve used it only on drums but I want to see what it does to other instruments. But I’m a big fan of emulators that are simple but amazing. This is it. Brings life to any snare and is so quick to apply and hear the changes.

Yes, you’ll need an Apollo audio interface, UAD-2 Satellite, or UAD-2 PCIe card to run these plug-ins, using the onboard DSP. The plug-ins run on the hardware itself, without adding strain to your computer’s CPU. In an Apollo, onboard DSP processing allows you to run realtime UAD plug-ins with near-zero latency, and even record that processing directly to your DAW.

This refers to the number of SHARC DSP processors in Apollo and UAD-2 hardware. A DUO core system has twice the amount of processing power compared to a SOLO core system. More SHARC DSP cores increases the number of UAD-2 plug-ins you can run on the hardware.

No, Satellites provide DSP to run UAD-2 plug-ins in your DAW.

Yes, you can start a fully functional 14-day demo from any plug-in bundled with the UAD software. Simply click “Start Demo”, and start using it in your DAW.

UAD-2 licenses follow the hardware, it does not matter which computer they are connected to.
