The World’s First Dynamic Room Modeling Plug-In
The Ocean Way Studios plug-in rewrites the book on what’s possible with acoustic space emulation. By combining elements of room, microphone, and source modeling, Ocean Way Studios moves far beyond standard impulse response players and reverbs — giving you an authentic replication of one of the world’s most famous recording studios.
Record in Legendary Ocean Way Rooms
From the opening of Bill Putnam’s United Recording in 1957, to the annexing of neighboring Western Studio in 1961, to their reinvention as Ocean Way Recording under Allen Sides — the famed “Studio A” and “Studio B” at Ocean Way Studios have shaped the sound of countless classic records for more than five decades.
Explore an Unrivaled Microphone Collection
With virtual access to $250,000 of hand-picked, vintage microphones, Ocean Way Studios gives you hit-making mic setups and placements for each room and source type.
Transform Tones with Reverb & Re-Mic Modes
Ocean Way Studios offers two modes: Reverb mode, using send/return paths to mix wet and dry signals, and Re-Mic mode, to fully immerse the original source audio within Ocean Way’s rooms. Re-Mic mode is by nature “fully wet,” and can be used to entirely replace your original room and microphone sounds with the fabled sound of Ocean Way.
What They Say
The [UAD] Ocean Way Studios plug-in is as good as going to Ocean Way and using Studio A or B but without driving in all the Hollywood traffic. A perfect way to add a great sounding room to a track that might be a little lackluster in the room dept.
Paul Hager
Goo Goo Dolls, Jonas Brothers
Hearing drums through Ocean Way Studios plug-in is like being transported to Ocean Way! The true sound of Studio A or Studio B applied to anything I want.
Chris Dugan
Green Day, Iggy Pop, U2
I assumed the UAD Ocean Way Studios was a reverb, but it's way more than that. I've been down the rabbit hole since I installed it and I'm not ready to come out yet.
This is very good reverb plug in. Sounds really good and it's very intuitive and ofcourse very useful.

Uncannily realistic placement of sounds in a room.
This has a great clean, bright yet warm sound, a nice contrast to the more ‘rock n roll’ sound of the sound city plugin. Get both!

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you’ll need an Apollo audio interface, UAD-2 Satellite, or UAD-2 PCIe card to run these plug-ins, using the onboard DSP. The plug-ins run on the hardware itself, without adding strain to your computer’s CPU. In an Apollo, onboard DSP processing allows you to run realtime UAD plug-ins with near-zero latency, and even record that processing directly to your DAW.
This refers to the number of SHARC DSP processors in Apollo and UAD-2 hardware. A DUO core system has twice the amount of processing power compared to a SOLO core system. More SHARC DSP cores increases the number of UAD-2 plug-ins you can run on the hardware.
No, Satellites provide DSP to run UAD-2 plug-ins in your DAW.
Yes, you can start a fully functional 14-day demo from any plug-in bundled with the UAD software. Simply click “Start Demo”, and start using it in your DAW.
UAD-2 licenses follow the hardware, it does not matter which computer they are connected to. You can have up to six UAD-2 devices registered to a system in your Universal Audio account, which share those licenses. See UAD-2 Plug-In Licensing Explained for full details. Authorisation of UAD-2 hardware is managed by the UAD Meter & Control Panel Application.
