The SSL E Series Channel Strip plug-in gives you everything you need to dial in professional, polished tracks with classic SSL sonics. With the inclusion of both the Type E “black knob” and “brown knob” four-band EQ and filters — hallowed in SSL lineage — you can apply refined punch to drums, presence to vocals, and heft to bass. Paid Upgrades to Native Versions
I love UA plugins+hardware, and like many, I have invested a lot in them. I see the quality and value in what you offer. I purchased an OCTO Satellite in addition to my Apollo just to be able to run these plugins, knowing that since the initial release of UAD-2 DSP accelerator tech, native processors have gotten FAR better -- making the UAD-2 DSP obsolete and not much more than a clunky iLok/dongle that I need to haul around in order to use my favourite plugins.
For a long time, I was willing to accept this and I was still willing to pay an arm and a leg for your software. I am now finding it awfully difficult to not be frustrated with these paid native upgrades; you are not adding anything new to the plugin (and we are not asking for it), while paywalling what should be considered a maintenance update, given that your DSP hardware is obsolete. UAD-2 plugin owners have already purchased these plugins for their full listed price, if not more, yet you leave them no choice but to pay more on top of that just to avoid being stuck in manufactured obsolescence.
UA does not seem to recognize/acknowledge the value in their repeat/loyal client base, these are the customers that have enabled you to grow and build up your platform. We are not asking for free things, just to not be spat on and punished for having purchased your software and hardware. At the very least, give us the illusion of caring.
You are creating resentment in a large number of your clients that once were spending plenty on your plugins, frequently. I can only really speak for myself and a few people that I know, but I am really beginning to not feel so interested in buying further into UAD plugins and hardware.D. Nelson-Ashley

Why would we need to pay for upgrade for Native if some of us have already paid full price for the product? Very frustrating.

Sounds great as always, but...
It's pretty infuriating to be asked to pay a fee to go native when UAD is phasing out the hardware accelerator cards. Users like myself paid significantly more than the company is charging for their plug-ins now, and an added fee to keep things working and relevant is a real slap in the face.

Tolle Umsetzung des SSL 4000 channels
Ich habe persönlich an SSL und Neve Konsolen arbeiten dürfen und viele Produktionen in den 80/90ziger damit produzieren können. Diese SSL Umsetzung ins Digital kommt dem Analogen sehr nahe. Ich habe über Cubase alle Channels mit SSL channel stripes bestückt und geschaut wie weit man ans Original kommen könnte. Klaro, der Test kann nicht wirklich verglichen werden,...aber, das Ergebnis des Produktionsresultates ist super. Ein toller Channel, mit viel Charakter, der zupackt und gut klingt, was auch immer das für den Nutzer diese Plugins bedeutet, da Vieles Geschmack Sache ist. Ich finde ihn toll und im Vergleich zu den Waves hat er mehr SSL Charakter.

Great Product
SSL 4000 Series has been a common go-to for me - probably because of the familiarity of the controls. The tone is great, the interface is...logical - the side-chain feature is great. My only gripe - and we know plenty others have the same issue - why the extra $10 for what was a traditionally free Native addition for those who previously owned the plugin? Still, for my use, it was worth it. Great work!
