UAD-2 QUAD Satellite Thunderbolt 3
I already own a UAD-2 QUAD PCIe card but I was running out of DSP power so I added a UAD-2 QUAD Thunderbolt Satellite. It's great - it instantly paired with my existing QUAD PCIe and I don't run out of DSP any more! Plus it's a sleek little bugger, looks really cool on my desk.

i like this!!
I bought it after always using twin x, and it is so good that I have enough DSP space.

Flawless!
With recent computer upgrades I was no longer able to use my old tried and true Satellite Firewire. Picked this up and doubled my plugin power. Plugged it in, went right back to work without a single hiccup. Really a sturdy build, easy setup and massive processing. Love it!

Amazing
Just make sure you buy a thunderbolt 3 cable first ;)

Octo satellite
This is the one . I have a silver face duo and seems as the years gone by the plug-ins got larger .I figured it’s the 32-64 bit change . Anyway, I started running out of dsp. I was going to buy another Apollo but decided on the octo . Now I can run so many plugins and don’t have to bounce tracks or mix with stems anymore . My largest session still only took about 58% of dsp.I mean I had a lot of plugins running , more then 25 . So I”m running 10 cores now ( 2 Apollo FireWire , 8 satellite ) and it’s plenty . This is a must buy ….

This, as with most UAD stuff, cost a fair whack but you get what you pay for. In this case I paid for more DSP to run more UAD plugins. It certainly ticks that box.

What I needed to fulfil my mixing needs
I have been using a Apollo Twin MKII for a couple of years now, and i've got used to the very good UAD plugins. I needed a upgrade, so I could all my plugins freely and at the same time reduce the CPU processing on my iMac.

Serious upgrade to the UAD ecosystem
Probably could have gotten away with a Quad-core Satellite but the Octo future-proofs my setup and when used in conjunction with a Mac M1 is an absolute powerhouse of processing power. True I could have just gotten an x8 for about the same cost but I like the footprint of my Apollo Twin X and it gives me the option to record on the go. No regrets.

I am very pleased with this box, together with my mac mini it is a good bunch and I think I will buy another one.

Upgrading soon
I was looking at getting one of those babies a while - finally took the decision to invest in a Quad Satellite. Mainly I wanted to ged the AMS and Empirical Labs Plug-Ins, but then got the Capitol Records Chambers and Ocean Way Studios as well. What can I say - I am really impressed and do not regret a single euro spent. Next mission: Add an OCTO :-)

Fresh Air
With this extra 4 cores I feel more free to keep on taking advantage of this powerful plug-ins. For a singer songwriter is enough to keep on boosting and enjoying music!!

UAD-2 Satellite
With this Satellite you are in the univers, don't worry and forget your CPU overload.
Now I have 2 boxes ... I love it

Tripled my DSP!
I concur, adding the Octo Thunderbolt3 satellite to my rig sets everything loose! The Apollo Twin X Quad is awesome, but adding 8 more sharcs, whew!
