What a great update to the original plug.
I have owned the original LA-2A plugin for about 8-9 years, and also regularly work with the hardware unit. I have always been happy with the plugin. It is a great compressor, but it never really had the same character as the hardware equivalent. This update to the original is a huge step up. The tonal, and dynamic, varieties between the three emulations are fantastic. I really liked the original on vocals and bass, but I love the new emulations. They work for so many sources and they add great character. Thanks UA.

This Is Unbelieveable!
Bought this plug-in recently and was at the end stages of writing a production music album. I've been writing production music for the last 20 years and recorded in some amazing studios. All of which had the 224 in hardware form. Being a committed UAD user, I expected great things from this plug-in but this really is sublime. The sound is totally there and of course, at a fraction of the price of the original unit. And of course, you can run multiple instances of it. Which I did, with a sense of deep joy. Needless to say, I swopped out the convolution reverb I had been using with this baby and boy, did it make a difference.
Big thanks UAD, keep up the excellent work!

Great Unit
After living with it, alongside my only surviving hardware version of it, I pulled my old friend from the rack it lived in and retired it, The plug in version sounds and behaves just like it.
I tested it by duplicating a track, inserted the 160 hardware into one, the software 160 into the other, got the sound I wanted in the hardware 160,
Without listening, replicated all the knob positions in the plug in, and started switching from one to the other. it was 99% the same, the hardware 160 was a little louder (about 2 dbs) once the levels were matched I demoed them to a client whom I know has good ears, he could not tell them apart, then I had him switch channels for me, I could not tell them apart. Enough said.

Fat sounds. The real deal.
Could not be happier with the sound of this collection. A MUST HAVE for UAD owners.

Superb plugin, gets a lot of use.
I'm lucky enough to have done an A/B test between a vintage silver LA-2A and this plugin. While there IS a slight character difference, I fail to see how that great piece of gear could be emulated better than this.

A big WOW!!
I've been using the original LA-2A for over ten years, and a vintage hardware unit before. The Classic Leveler Collection is very simply, stellar! Both are automobiles, but a Ferrari gets us a little more excited than a Chevy Malibu. I think this is an apt comparison between the original LA-2A and the new collection. The detail, nuance, and sonic qualities are stunning.

Behold The God of Reverbs!!!
The 224 has been the staple of my mixxes since the days I use to cut tape. I love it sounds the same and feels just as good!

I will use these a lot..
I bought these after trying them out against some of other plug ins including the more expensive one's, they where on offer at $149, I instantly liked them on vocals and there easy to set up an get a good sound right away, they sound expensive, specially the middle one Medium think thats Grey one on vocal.. I don't usually make snap decisions but I just knew right away id use this all the time if i bought them.. my next purchase will be the 140 reverb when they have an offer on it. !

Perrrfect!
I just love the Teletronix LA-2A Classic Leveler Collection because they are smooth, strong and to the point of what I wish them to do! In other words Perrrfect!

LAZA is da shit!
This is the craziest shit ever! If hardware sounds different, I would use UAD instead.
Thanks!

Lots of mojo in this trinity
These new compressors have been finding their way in to my mixes since the first day I demoed them. BUying them was a no brainer, especially with the discount I got from owning the original. I'm loving the gray on drum rooms and the silver on backing vocal groups. Of course there are lots of different uses to explore. The feel and behave like real hardware. I've never owned an acual LA"A so I don't know how realistic these emulations are, but they sound great and are easy to use which is the important thing for me.

A must have. Really !
Brilliant ! They smash drums up like the real thing no nasty digital distortion overtones. Each one has slightly different characteristics just find the one that suits what your doing best. They seem weightier than the original plug-in ( which i was more than happy with ) and more responsive. Can't recommend them enough, Very very pleased.

Lazy Custumer Support
I bought a couple of the most expensive plug ins like this and for no reason the authorization fail multiple times, even by opening 3 support ticket and 2 call from germany directly to the us support center.....still no solution.....great plug ins but no real good technical support.....

warmth!
this plug really makes it easy to warm up a mix. great saturation as well. very pleased + worth every penny

hot sound
much more colored than the old UAD LA2A, thoose ones bring warmth, vibe, lively harmonic saturation. I usually use sonnox limiter and inflator, wich are nice for analog like saturation, but the new LA2A collection make things more irregular and more charming I think.. just used them on vocals, guitars(electric and acoustic) and bass, following the advices (gray or old one for vocals, silver for guitars). Sounds really get in front of the mix with thoose ones.

Lexicon 224 same as 20 years ago the real thing
I have the real Lexicon 224 Digital Reverb 20 years ago inside my recording studio ( Sound Station, in Hong Kong ), need to cost me about US$10000 at that time, now I can have the real sounds and effects and the setting is almost as the real Lexicon 224 as before but with only a fraction of the cost which I have paid before and of course the plug in bring back so many memories about the Lexicon 224 I used to have.
