Same vibes than the hardware!
The only reason I don't give this collection the 5th star is because I had the privilege of working with the Pultec hardware just once and that was a long time ago, so I can't really compare...
Despite this, I remember perfectly the feeling and vibes that the Pultec hardware bring to the project I was working, and I can say this plug-in brings those sensations the same way.

Not much difference, to my ear...
I use the Pultec Pro Legacy plugin all the time- on vocals, acoustic guitar, piano...I did an A/B between the old and new Pultec plugins on these same sources, and I must admit, I hear only a very slight difference (new version seems to maintain the low mid character of the source material, old version seems to dip the low mids a little, giving it a slight perceivably brighter sound). Overall I find them so close that I'd rather continue using the Pultec Legacy and spend my money on a different plugin. They sound great, don't get me wrong, but for now I'm good with the Legacy Pultec.

Fairchild Plug ins
Having worked with hardware versions many times,I can truly say that the new plug in faithfully re creates all of the nuances of the hardware version to a T..and then some.

Simple to use with stand out results
You can really make sounds pop out of the mix. I found it great to control my eurorack synths when the sound is totally glitching out.

Eggcellent Eq collection, Absolutely Love these! When i'm getting my recipe mixed up and Getting everything together. The Pultec Collection is my weapon of choice for my finished baked session.

LA-2A Classic
The Teletronix collection works great on vocals for sure. Very easy to compress with a nice sound. The pre sets are great. Just tweak and you are ready to go. You dont have to take so long changing the settings ..............

Upgrade from the Legacy and you'll immediately hear the difference!
Compared the updated Pultec collection with the legacy and it's like night and day! I did a shootout with proper gain staging vs T-Racks, Waves, and Softube. I dumped the T-Racks and Softube versions! Highly recommend using this on piano and drums.

Each one of these LA-2A's has it's own distinct characteristic to it. It's a matter of preference as to which will work best in the application used but if you're trying to find it look no further. The cleanest LA-2A's anywhere. Trust me, I've looked and tried them all!

I used the original version of this plug-in as a go to on vocals and snare drum, especially when using brushes. This new collection has upped the mojo considerably and just makes me smile every time I use it. High five to UA for yet another steller plug-in. I've been demoing the new 1176 plugins too and am equally as floored. I'll be purchasing that for sure as well.

Fairchild Tube Collection
I have a production studio. Purchased this plug-in a month ago and I am well pleased with it. Easy to use and it makes a big difference in the quality of my work. Thanks again UA...

Could this be better than the real thing?
It might be.
I have been lucky enough to use a Fairchild. A friend brought one to my studio one day after having his serviced so I could help make sure it was functioning correctly. After having it here for weeks, I didn't think I could live without. When it left, I was sad.
UA's new Fairchild Collection has brought the smile back to my face that the real hardware originally created. Not only does it sound and function like the hardware, it's even more flexible and tweak-able. Being able to change the headroom and wet/dry mix of the effect was something I could have only dreamed of before.
Plus I'll never have to be with out it when it breaks down and needs to visit the tech for TLC.

It´s a fair child...
I really liked the sound of this one... I never even saw a real Fairchild in my life, but I have to tell you, the sound of this plugin made me wonder how good the real thing is.

The presets are just awesome. For people like me, looking for an analog-like sound, this plugin is a must have. It brings personality to sounds.

Good solid compressor
I wanted another compressor for my arsenal. I already had the LA-2A, and that was the compressor I most often used on tracks especially vocals, to get it to sit well in the nix. To my ears, the LA-3A sounds quite similar, taming vocals and guitars well and making a mix much more balanced. I'm no expert, but the LA-2A and 3A are quite similar to my ears, and if you like the LA-2A (and I do very much) this is a good addition to your compressor arsenal.
