Spot On! Has that familiar Avalon presence
Sounds Almost completely identical to the hardware! Has that signature Avalon glossy presence' Amazing tube sound! honestly very difficult to tell the difference between this and the hardware; I'm glad I got this Plug In its definitely takes my sound to a whole nother level that I haven't had since I worked at a studio with the Avalon Hardware unit...this is spot on!

It adds mojo
The distortion and other non-linearities in the 175-B are helpful in getting vocals to leap out, for instance. It's one of those addictive compression tools, you want to try it on everything and say, "that sounds better." I use it only on things that need the extra mojo, distortion, hype and help.

Nice Tool!
I have no idea how the original Avalon sounds as hardware, but i can say that the channelstrip here does its job to my satisfaction. Mic preamp loaded into the console, gain up and have fun. With the preamp you can calmly feed the signal into your DAW, record it and process it afterwards. I would use the compressor and EQ settings as insert on the respective channel afterwards. Nicely done.

Sounds superb
Such a smooth, clean reverb that has a very open spacial sound. I tried this on drums and vocals and compared it with other plate reverbs. The results had me instantly hooked. In fact, the sound is actually pretty addictive and I found myself listening to it on loop for an extended amount of time.
In particular, this plugin even has a directional parameter so you can pan the reverb left or right, to the opposite of the sound for an interesting panned reverb, stereo effect amongst other flexible settings.
This should be a standard go-to reverb plugin in every UAD owners tool kit for either short room reverb for drum sounds or long, hall type settings. Excellent reverb plugin.

Amazing
This thing can literally do anything you want. I put it on some 909 drum sounds in particular. After adjusting the settings, it gave the kick unbelievable depth with a smooth, rounded bottom end and clear top end but was not overpowering in the mix. It gave ultimate clarity and a crisp cutting edge to the hats and made them just generally sound fuller.
Overall, this plugin made the mix sound huge, producing a warm, truly analog sound with unprecedented depth.
This plugin is a beauty and will transform your mix into an analog powerhouse. I love it.

Hardware vs. Emulation
The emulated compression release has a noticeable 2D smooth smear instead of the depth and separation of the actual hardware. It sounds close.

Too Much Tube
Maybe it's me but I just can't find the sweet spot with this plugin. It seems like it's too harsh sounding for my taste right now.

Nice Plate
This reverb is simple, but sounds terrific. I've been using it on all my vocals now.

WHY? Does it look different?
I sold 2 of my 3 E series 1176"s that i had since the 70s, because the the revised version sounded so good! Now you change the look of them! Very hard to see attack and release and the ratio is impossible! Your amazing 1176 looks like a cheap Imposter! I never had a complaint with UA, your Plugins allowed me to sell my analog gear with no regrets.

Great when bussed
I mostly use this on the fly when I’m tracking vocals as it hasn’t failed me yet. It’s easy to use and sounds natural.

Give it a chance!
I am a guitar player and not a huge fan of chorus. I loved Andy Summers, Allan Holdsworth, John Scofield, John McLaughlin and many more, but I didn't like how I sounded. I plugged it on bass channel with Ampeg a week ago searching for a bit of stereo width. It worked well. Later I gave my guitar a chance. Oh, boy! 55's fender with a twist of 610B, Pultec and Brigade Chorus on a pure plate. Such fun! It is an easy-going effect. It gives that old school classic quality. I set all knobs between 1 - 3 and played with the level. For me, less makes a huge difference. In my opinion Brigade Chorus is not expensive for the offered quality. I have to check Galaxy, Dytronics and Studio D one day.
