The previously released 1176 Collection was just the beginning. if you think UAD outdid themselves with that innovative release, prep yourself for the LA-2A Collection, which trumps the 1176 the same way a finely tuned vintage Jaguar bests a new one any day of the week. Each one of these 3 new plugins offers a substantial array of audio hues and colours that (if properly used) can offer a whole new universe of possibilities for those who found the long-available LA-2A plugin indispensable. if you can't live without your your LA-2A, then you're going to die of happiness when you hear these new emulations. I honestly feel like i've died and gone to heaven and found a room full of vintage LA-2A's waiting there for me. anything's possible now.

The demo lasted 30 seconds and it was an immediate purchase. I love this... Warm, Punchy, Vintage. Thank you UA for making life so fun!

I cannot speak to authenticity, how many of us can really, but it is beautiful and easy. It has instantly improved every vocal track I've stuck it on so far. Keep up the great work UAD team!

This plugin is absolutely AMAZING !!!, I have been using many tape simulation plugins over the last couple of years including, Waves, Softube, Slate Digital, but this one is best so far, no doubt about that.

After years and years, we STILL can't see the values as we change settings for vintage-style plug-ins like this, and we also can't ENTER IN the values as we need to.
Why hold on to a completely useless part of the past, guys? It's maddening, and I won't be buying any more UA products until this changes. There are other options out there. There are so many times in my professional work that I need to lower things by a specific amount, and to enter in specific amounts. I can't with UA like I can with almost all of my other plugins. So, I'm done with UA until this changes.

...Universal Audio STILL refuses to join the 21st century and let us SEE the values as we change settings, and also to let us ENTER IN the values as we need to.
It's mind-boggling to me how ancient and far behind the times they are with this. Why hold on to a completely useless part of the past, guys? Maddening, and I won't be buying any more UA products until this changes. There are other options out there.

My favorite UAD compressor!
I have a special love for LA-2A comps in general and this Collection is fantastic! It destroys the stock UAD LA-2A. When this collection went on sale, I decided to demo them. And I HAD to buy it after one listen!
The LA-2 is great for a retro vibe or just something different. The gray and silver are just as outstanding. They all deliver top notch performance that sounds like the authentic hardware - but for a fraction of the price!

To sum it up, absolutely amazing. I didn't expect such spot on identical performances to the originals as these beauties turned out to deliver. Through the years I've worked with all the hardware models included, and even though I will continue to do so, the plugin versions have made as big footprint on my work as their hardware siblings did some years ago. Truly classic stuff and if you haven't tried them out yet, do so. Highly recommended and should be top of list for any studio. Priceless stuff UA, well done and keep amaze me with your products!

Great sound. It's surprising how often I pull one of these out, as they are so useful for so many things, but mostly for vocals.

Like the real thing
Well there are tons of reverb-plugins out there, but this one blows me away and stop me think about hardware units. It sounds and behaves just the same. This is the only reverb you'll ever need.

Use with caution and find the holy grail
So, I just use this when mastering, and the studer on all tracks. When you learn to tweak it it will sound absolutely amazing. The Studer & Ampex are a golden combo!

I use it on almost all tracks, sounds amazing! Takes me back to the 80-90-ies when I was recording on real tape. Love it!

UA's masterpiece
One of my favourite plugins on the UAD platform. One of the reasons I had to buy UAD is this EQ. Very good on vocals and synth leads. Add some clarity and transparency to the sound. It can lift the entire sound a bit up. The only con is maybe the usage of DSP power. This EQ needs one DSP each plug. Great job UA!

I am really happy with the new 1176 collection. They are way more powerful than the earlier versions of the 1176 Plug-ins. They even add more colour. This collection comes in three different flavours with his own character. I use them almost on any bus and it get things perfectly in the mix. It’s very close to the original 1176. I think it’s the best 1176 plug on the market. Must have for any UAD owner.
