Kicked my other Fairchild's to the curb
I really like the simplicity and sound of the Fairchild, and after demoing the UAD version I bought it to replace my Waves Puigchild and IK Fairchild haven't looked back.

Realmente un gran plugin, reverberaciones exquisitas que no enturbian el sonido original aportando cálidos espacios, me encanta. La utilizo insertada o por auxiliar sin problemas. Lo negativo, no hay manual en español, cada día son más sus clientes de habla hispana y sería bueno considerarlos.

Really great plugin, exquisite reverberations not cloudy the original sound providing warm spaces, I love it. I use by insert or aux smoothly. The negative, not manual in Spanish, every day more Hispanic customers and would be good to consider them.

Beautiful little DSP hog
I'm only giving 4 stars because this thing eats up DSP so hard to use in a mix. For tracking, however, it's totally worth it. I have a preset I made for my voice that I use before some light LA2A compression (mic is a clone of a Neumann U87). For 90% of the mixes I do (all with myself singing) I find that combination alone is perfect and I rarely need to mess with EQ/compression after tracking. I would love to use more in mixing, but similarly to the A800, the DSP usage rarely allows it (I have a DUO). So my only criticisms here are price and DSP usage.

Smooth tape emulation
I've owned this for a while, and I'm finally comfortable enough to write a review on it. Subtlety seems to be the key word with this thing. I don't like what it does to the low end, but find it can really warm up mids and smooths things up when pushed just a bit. I don't like kick feeding into it so I keep off of the master bus (or have kick by pass it); and same deal with drums bus. Saturating it a bit on vocals can be nice, but again subtly. This thing is a DSP hog, but I do love it for premasters. As a DUO owner, I tend to reach for other tape emulators first (e.g., J37) before using this for that reason.

It kills the Waves version in my opinion. I love it on Piano and bass. It's awesome on drums and vocals too. Great sounding, although I have never heard a real Fairchild on my own mix, but I think for this price the UAD can't be beat.

Best channel strip plugin ever
I was not planning on getting this before demoing it but after I did I knew I would be buying it. It is such a useful tool. Preamp saturation, filters, gate, EQ, Compression and level control all in a single interface. The fact that it can be used with unison preamps make it indispensable for tracking. One of my favourite features is something that's often overlooked but the metering range on the compressor makes it very easy to dial in gentle peak limiting while tracking.

Amazing recreation
Having spent countless hours operating a Studer A820 as soon as I insert the plugin version I can almost swear I can smell the acetate of s rolling 24 track machine. Being able to track through it with the apollo and mix with it on busses has instantly improved my mixes. Highly recommended.

One of the best pieces of processing for your master bus. Instant vine and character. The EQ on this machine works wonders. Also using it as a tape delay has always been one of my favourite tricks on the hardware and I'm glad to see it in the plugin.

Better than the new Waves 160!
I don't care what anyone says but this is still better than the new Waves one that they recently released. This thing is quite old now but oh well it's still holds up to it's name. I use it on parallel with a lot of stuff! You just can't go wrong with it as it just has this smack that you can't get with anything else. It's a type of smack that you'll only get with this type of compressor. It's a really nice colour and oh well it's so versatile...
Absolutely perfect! In the future I hope UA will update it's GUI to a bigger one to match with it's new plugin layouts as for some it can be a bit hard on the eyes!

CAN YOU GUYS PLEASE DO A PULTEC PRO VERSION OF THIS AS WELL JUST LIKE YOU HAVE WITH THE LEGACY SO YOU CAN HAVE ALL 3 PLUGINS IN 1. IT'D SAVE US SO MUCH TIME THAT WE WON'T HAVE TO GO BACK AND FORTH!
