My "must have" plugin.
My mix just doesn't sound finished until this juicy bad boy is on my master bus. I have all the other tape plugins and the AMPEX sounds the best, HANDS DOWN.

Elegant and Classic, Unbelievable Sound
It's so important to have amazing sounding effects when mixing music and the Lexion 224 simply shines. It sounds big, full of depth. My go to on vocals, piano, synths, and strings.

Love this plug... very close to the hardware
I've used API gear for many years. I wouldn't say this does exactly what the hardware does, but its about 90% there. That's close enough for me, especially considering the price and that I can use more than one at a time!

You need at least one Tape Recorder software in your arsenal. If you can get this one, get it!

Fairchild Tube Limiter Collection
This is an excellent collection of softwares. If this software is included with Universal Audio promotion sale of hardware like Apollo or any other device they are selling, don't waste your time to think about it, buy the hardware and get the software because later on, you will want to get it.

Warmth and character
When i first pulled up the Oxide tape on a vocaltrack i was blown away by its character and heartwarming touch to vocals. I also use it alot on synths and horns. It has become a secret weapon for me when instruments or vocals need a little "hugh" from the magnetic tape domain. A pretty handy little thing.

The quickfix for dull sounding drumbusses
I usually slap a Fairchild on room mics and blend in the uncompressed signal not altering punch and impact. the Fairchild has a tendency to shape up low end which is partly what i love about it.

Fantastic Tape Emulation, unique sound
After having tried the demo of the ATR-102 several times.. I had no choice but to buy it when I got the chance. It does SOMETHING that no other plugin can do, bringing the perfect amount of glue, compression, cohesiveness, and harmonic enhancement to either individual tracks of the whole mix. I would recommend getting this one first over the STUDER, but they are both very good. Amazing plugin!
