You can get a great sound in less than a minute and it doesn't soak up all your dsp!

Can't live without.
I know tons of people have said this but I will say it also UAD really have done the job, seriously every plugin I get I have a huge grin as soon as I use them. I always see people saying you can achieve all this stuff with stock plugins well I'd love to hear that. Because you really can't. And if someone does achieve that I bet it doesn't take you 30 seconds to achieve that sound like it does with the 1176. I've said it with near every review. Get it. Don't sleep on it. Just get it.

My New Widener
This has replaced the Microshift as my new widener. It can be subtle or obvious. I put it on a bus and automate tracks in and out, put it after a reverb, synth pads, guitars, BGVs, Lead vocal in the chorus. Many uses. Awesome.

These classic plugins are here to stay and you need it if you’re doing vocal and bass!! That’s just the beginning. I don’t know why I waited so long to upgrade!!

Absolutely flawless model of the original unit. Works wonders to widen and give mouvement to acoustic guitar and back vocal busses or to add that authentic “80’s touch” to software synths or guitars!

Really love the Ref A. Gives u the in ur face Vocal what u expect from an 1176.

A crucial processor for my external gear
I basically run everything through Oxide. It really brings out the best in my DSI Tempest, introducing subtle compression and helping the kicks sit better in a mix without reducing overall impact. Similarly, adding Oxide to my bass input chain after a Unison amp gives me really lovely, balanced tracks that I don't have to do as much with in my DAW. It's a nifty little plugin!
