Good buy
The reverb is a great plug in. It's a good option to free up some space in the studio. To me it doesn't have the same depth sonically as the hardware. But, it's honestly a shockingly close replication.

Youth and beauty
Ever since my first 'real' studio adventure, in a time far away, in a place called Paradise, I have yearned to hold a lexicon remote control in my hand. That strange white box, reminiscent of an off white storm trooper, boasting an 80's aesthetic that is truly unmistakable and tied to a hidden machine by a rats tail cable that promises a feeling of electricity, has always been an enigma and a holy grail of cavernous and beautiful sound. It can be both delicate and heavy handed, crunchy and sparkling and really can be the go to reverb for any application given the right usage. I'm but a performer and as such could not really hope to own the real thing, but, this software brings me oh so close. Any shortcomings pale in the face of its beauty!

Good On Guitar Busses
Got this for smoothing and evening out L/R balances of guitars on stereo busses. Does that perfectly. I preferred it to the Waves version which I found to be a little grungier.
Also useful on the occasional vocal.

Great Fun!
I've only had the LA-3A for a short time, but it's so much fun. I tend to work in a fairly unsubtle fashion, and it's perfect for me, often with both knobs turned all the way up (I got that tip from watching one of the UA videos about the LA-3A). I find it's wonderful for lead guitar--especially one without much fuzz; it makes it really pop out. It doesn't work for everything I've tried it on, but it's great at helping a sound shove it's way through a noisy scenario. I resisted buying it for a long time, because it seemed so simple, but it's got something very interesting going on, especially when I push it pretty hard.

La-3a and guitars!!
Great plugin version of a classic. My go to for guitars and occasionally it ends up on a vocal..
Gotta say I'm looking forward to a MkII and a bigger GUI!

Pure control
Holds my vocal tracks together without too much coloring.

LA-3A
I use it in conjunction with other compressors to add that special depth to the Bass guitar.

Teletronix® LA-3A Classic Audio Leveler Plug-In
I find this plug-in usable for just about anything. You can't beat the price even though it is from the original suite of uad-2. UAD's plugins are always superior to anything out there. You can never have too many compressors and the ease of use and low over head on my solo flexi makes it usable on Drums and Acoustic and Electric Guitar are my favorites to use the LA-3A but it sounds good on everything. Great price too. This is a must have plug-in.

UAD makes the best opto compressors
Makes my acoustic guitar sound classy and smooth. I'll sometimes double track an acoustic guitar part and have the LA-3A on one track and a UAD LA-2A on the other. Really gorgeous and lush, and makes the acoustic guitars gigantic sounding. I tried the Waves opto compressor plugs, but they didn't even come close to the UAD versions. Hard to go wrong here - it's simple, inexpensive, and sounds great.

LA3A Sweeeeeeeeeeet!
Butter! Best way to describe this one is like a combo plate of a 1776 & LA2A, if that makes any sense? Nice plugin!

CLEAR
Feeling of the transparency matches a reverberation, and it doesn't become impure.
The mix isn't saturated, so it's saved.

Awesome! Period.
Breathes life into any instance. The options are great. Like most reverbs it uses quite a bit resources, however this is so much more than any reverb. Definately a MUST HAVE plugin.

mixed bag
This sounds nothing like waves cla-3a IMO so if they are supposedly modelled upon the same compressor somebody is trekking porkies.
The UA version has a much much shorter attack, can trash most transients in about 3db gain reduction, which at times is perfectly wonderful. The waves version sounds more similar to UA la2a IMO. I own both and use both as they are both different enough, as to accuracy, jury is out

my vita of reverbs until lexicon 224
I startet recording at home about 40 years ago.
My first reverb was a furman spring reverb, .... not bad
the second one was a Dynacord drp 16, that seemed in that times quite modern, but i had a terrible humm on the gear and didnt know how to get rid of, now i would know
third one was a Roland drv 3000, then tc electronics 3000.
But the lexicon makes the best and fullest Sound i have ever heard and justifies the very best rumors about it, since a normal musician never could get in the near of this Kind of gear without a Major deal.
But now we can
Yeah!!!.... Peace!!!!!

REVERB MAGIC
This reverb simply sounds amazing and is so simple to use just like the true unit, I have been able to see the real unit in action and it really is incredible to hear in person. The snare sounds and vocal sounds other engineers were able to pull off with the hardware was nothing short of amazing, demoed this bad boy out and was able to get the same colors, I had to buy it. This reverb has an openness that is simply not available anywhere else. Grab it demo it, you need to own it.
