Realistic, blends well
Realistic, blends well. Can't beat the Bricasti's but the best plugin out there for this use.

Didn't do it for m e
I wanted to like this plugin, but I couldn't. I might have used it the wrong way, but there are only basically two modes in which to use it, so there isn't much that could be done wrong. I tried it mainly on drums, that were recorded in a pretty dry place, but this plugin didn't only add a room to the sound, it altered the sound of the kit to something thin and nasty sounding. Again, I might have done it wrong, and should have experimented with the plugin a bit more, but I just can't afford a plugin with a steep learning curve. There's never enough time anyway, so the plugins I use have to get me results quickly without having to spend hours finding out how to achieve good results.

Very specific uses
I tried this plugin several times before I decided to purchase it. Every time I tried it I struggled between loving the sound and not finding a real use for it. Even after purchasing it I still don't use it as much as I should. I think at this stage I will mainly use it for re-micing digital instruments to make them feel more real, but do it offline to save DSP. I would like to use it more as a reverb unit but it is so heavy on DSP one or two instances is all you will get.

The Re-Mic is my new weapon of choice!
As a producer who specializes in the boom bap sub-genre of hip hop music I use a lot of vinyl based samples in my music, especially when it comes to the drums. Ocean Way's Re-Mic function allows me to create fresh and interesting drums that still has that vintage breakbeat vinyl sound underground hip hop fans still love. I also use it with live drums, piano, brass and string samples. This is a great plugin and thank you for creating it. Please do more studios!

So far so good
I'm still finding my way around this one. I've used it as a reverb to get more of a real "room" sound for fiddle and guitar, and with a bit a tweaking one of the presets I've hit on something I really like. Many more possibilities to be explored, surely. Good job, lads.

Really great, but miss multiple outputs
This is a really cool plugin, love the re-mic mode, which is like being in the studio, moving mikes around. Only reason it doesn't get 5 starts is that unfortunately the big difference with a studio situation is that you cannot process the mid and far mikes separate (except for volume/pan/phase). I hope UA will update the plugin with multiple outputs like a lot of VI have.

Room tone, the Oceanway
I love this plugin. I put my drums through one instance and my guitars through another. Coupled with a great unison guitar plug, you may never need to mic up another guitar cabinet ever!

Natural Sounding
This is the most natural sounding room reverb I've every heard. I like the H9 Room for guitars, but for a plugin in a DAW, this can allow post processing for anything, vocals, guitar, drums, etc.
Most Reverberations sound somewhat fake, but this is so natural I can't tell it's a fake reverberation.
Haven't tried top end Eventide's or anything, and am a hobbyist, but I have played piano in a large room and this is indistinguishable to me.
Maybe a lot of recordings use Plate or some other type of reverb that is expected for commercial production. But for those seeking a real sounding room, Demo this plugin.

It couldn't be better !!!
I'm a student,... I've been recording for 35 Years,... I've recorded 17 CD's,... I play Drums and Perc., Bass, All Bass cleft Insturments, and mediocre, guitar, sing, And if thats not enough I'm getting my audio for media degree in May,... Soooo........ we use this in school, Its the only in the box reverb I use, its Mind blowing, Its on the freaking money, if I could I'd marry it. Seriously it is the link between real and sci-fi. There are emulations and then there is this. I have a pretty good project studio without this, with this I might as well be Ocean Way, my drums are now insane , my vocals are the same and everything else is just crazy through this. You know how I feel JUST GET IT!!!!!!!!
.
Better than all other rooms!!
I am using it on every mix to give it depth and width! It's blewing my mind to have access to those excellent rooms! If you haven't tried it yet, give it a chance and you'll be amazed!

My room in my Mac just got bigger
To have Ocean Way studio rooms in my Mac. Wow!
My small room though well tuned is no match for the 2 rooms at Ocean Way California. IR/simulation is the closes I can get.
I have never been there, but Its the effort made tracking the 2 rooms that has my attention and tells me how useful the sim will be for me.
Thanks Allen and UAD, I have some line level gear that have benefited from your effort.

two-trick-pony: Reverb & ReAmping
The special sale plus a coupon convinced me to demo this plugin and finally buy it for 175.-€, although I could only scratch the surface of it. After a few weeks of use it made it's way to one of my fav's:
- for "reamping" guitar/s,
- on the drums bus,
- as a reverb on reverb insert,
- as "glue" on the master bus.
The presets work fine for me as a starting point. It helps to put your mix into "one defined room". But to get deeper I will have to invest some time to experiment with all the features.
So I think the money is well spent (although the original price of 349.- would have been too high for me)

Ocean Way
So far it's proving yo be really nice i'm not sure about some of the re micing claims and how accurate they are but if it sound good then job done, i find myself using it a lot more to be creative and twist sounds around which it is fantastic for, however its still early days so i would need to live with it a lot longer to be fair....The price is quite hefty so i can't really be sure of value for money that being said i am a total UADer so i guess i'm trapped and like a lot of the other reviewers a little biased

My Favorite Plug-In By Far
In my opinion, this plug-in has set the bar for what computer code can do for audio production. In that regard, I think it's second only to DAWs. I'm primarily a hardware man, but I this plug-in always makes at least one layer in every track sound better, and I use it all the time.
If you take this plug-in as seriously as you should, and you learn how to use it well, you will add an incredibly powerful tool to your studio.

Ocean Way Studios Rocks!!!
I've been using the Ocean Way Studios plugins in my latest mix (Hard Rock Band), and I inserted it iinto the drum room mics and was very impressed. It brought the drums to life and when I bypass it I feel I can't live without it. I've also used it to re-mic some of the guitars using the 44 8 model and I love how it brings out the mid-range without stepping over the Vocals. I'm still getting to grips with it but I'm very satisfied with the results. Highly recommended.

Ocean Way Studios Plug-In
Great plugin for drums to give them a superb over all room sound or to have just a luxury reverb bus.
Remiking clean guitars works like charm too - i really love the airy, bloomy sound!

Ocean Way Studio is worth buying.
Ocean Way Studio is an extravagant and worth buying emulator for vocal and instruments. I used several instruments per song I make and I always find difficulties to make all the instruments to be heard and well balanced mix.But when I used Ocean Way Studio, every instruments are placed exactly the way it should sound in my mix. I do own popular brands of plugin effects, but I think plugins which I purchased from Universal Audio are the most reliable and outstanding plugins I've ever had. They are worth buying, it never tax my CPU and I have these kind of satisfaction that I really did an investment wise purchased of UA plugins regarding with the result of my mix and master.

watch it,it can drain you dsp
I love it,I love the way instruments and vocals sound with it,and i know i need more time working with it because it might seem simple, but it is not a simple reverb at all....the big downfall is that you need almost a full UA satellite quad dedicated to it,it drains dsp....

Remarkable, one-of-a-kind
I just started using Ocean Way to bring life to DI bass tracks, sampled drums and pianos, etc., and have been more than pleased. This is an effect that would take me hours to dial in with an ordinary reverb, if it could be done at all. Instant realism. I almost gave it 4 stars because I wish I had a bit more control over mic placement, but I assume that would take some real rocket-science style math, and might not really change the plug's capability anyway. A great plug-in.
