Brilliant
This is an excellent work-horse EQ.
Low DSP usage too!

Good but needs updating
I've used this EQ since it came out in 2003. In those days there were just about no EQ plugs worth having. And then the Cambridge came out and impressed with it's very professional features and amazing LPF/HPF filters. I would never criticise the EQ - it's as others say, clinical and precise. But the GUI is getting old and I've started using the FabFilter EQ because it's offering me great sound, stereo and MS modes, and a GUI to die for. Nonetheless I've had many happy years with the Cambridge but until it's updated I don't see myself using it.

Super EQ
C'est un vrai couteau suisse. Il sert à tout et reste toujours stable. Sur un mix je l'utilise sur au moins 20 pistes et c'est toujours avec la même facilité. C'est un EQ très intuitif.

Gets the job done
I was in search of a simple, graphical EQ for the UAD platform to take off a bit of load from my computer. I was a bit sceptical at first, due to the old code, but I was surprised how good it actually sounded. For sounds that needs a bit of simple EQ'ing without the need of "vintage colouring", this definitely gets the job done, and takes very little of your UAD processing!

Very versatile, always useful
My go to Eq when I need to work on details. DSP friendly and has nice eq shape options.

Pls add signal anylizer
I'll buy this if it gets a signal anylizer. I won't need logics or fruitys ever again

Very good EQ
Very nice, precise and flexible EQ - whether used creatively or to correct problem frequencies it can get the job done easily and quickly without messing up your track(s).

i needed a low dsp eq, this does the job, nothing more.

Visual data makes this interface stand out...
This is one of the more moderately priced plug-ins. It offers a good multi-band unit like other quality UA EQs, but where it really shines is the bandwidth interface. It is very visual, allowing you to see changes to specific signal ranges. Very intuitive, very useful.

Surprisingly powerful filters, workhorse
This EQ is a staple for me due in particular to some very nice HP and LP filter choices. They do wonders on the low end. There are plenty of sculpting shapes to the parametric Q bands too and overall the Cambridge EQ sounds very nice.
To me, it loses one point for lack of ease of use when it comes to selecting between the LP and HP filters - I have to manually click through each one, instead of having a quick knob or using keyboard to scroll between them. Surprisingly annoying, at least for my workflow this is an issue, someone else may disagree.
Also, bands are restricted to certain areas of the frequency and this has caused me some frustration when I'm in my flow and cant extend a certain band below 400hz for sculpting a final touch

Nice + useful
Pro: really small DSP consumtion , good to use , does no harm (if used right) , versatile and usefull
Con: analizer missing , maybe 6 band would be an enhancement , not really better than Logic own EQ
This is one of the oldest UAD Plugins and that can be seen. Still good and the huge ammouth of filtering types especially for lowpas and highpass filters is up to date. The only problem is, time do not stand still and so do competors. There is nothing special in it.
If you get it by an offer it´s ok, for 149.- it´s far to expensive nowadays.

Sounds clean, but NEEDS an updated GUI.
Ok, I have some minor vision problems that are exaggerated when working with computer screens. This plugin needs a visual overhaul for me to give 5 stars. I need to be able to expand (maximize) the plugin window and have a cleaner look to the EQ to really work faster. As an EQ though, I am happy with it. I must say that I don't hear a ton of difference between it and the minimum phase eq in Logic. The Cambridge has some nice LPF and HPF options that go beyond the Logic one. Look, for the price, I cannot complain, but please give a clean GUI update. Some of us serious users do need it and it is not only about aesthetics of the look of the plugin.

Great Go-To for EQ, but...
When I first bought the Cambridge, I was a little skeptical about how much I would actually use it. After the first few tracks I used it on however, I was sold. It's clean, intuitive, and the documentation is solid.
My favorite feature is the versatility of the selectable curves for the cuts. My biggest complaint is the lack of a built in spectrum analyzer which I've found to be pretty standard on most other EQ plugins.
My biggest piece of advice to anyone not liking the sound they're getting is to actually read the documentation and learn how to use the 3 types to your advantage, as well as the various types of shelving if you're not getting the results you desire from the EQ shelves.

Great! BUT...
This is my To-Go EQ for mixing single tracks! BUT I really miss a spectrum analyzer in the background of the EQ curve!!!
This is really steep and neutral if wanted and there is NO other EQ out there which can do this! (yes melda is steep but frequencies stay and much own sound)

Great EQ - Low DSP
A very nifty little eq with great sound and nice filter options. I find myself using many instances of it - and its low DSP hit - for adjusting tracks, groups and effect returns in the beginning of a mix for which I might end up using the bigger (massive passive) or more colorful (eg Pultec and Trident) guns. But often the trusty Cambridge stays, at least for hi/lo passes and more surgical cuts. It gets a lot of use and I'm very happy with this eq.

Love the Cambridge EQ
The Cambridge EQ is a very nice sounding EQ which i love for his clean sound and steep filters. Its not modelled after a specific unit and is a digital EQ but does not sound harsh if you boost it a lot. The colorful GUI design and functionality is just great and very intuitiv. The filters sound really musical but you can go steep enough to use them for special effects. It is also very CPU friendly which is perfect for doing all the basic EQ work in the mix. The Oxford EQ was the one i used a lot before i bought the cambridge EQ. Sorry Sonnox i guess i have a new favourite... :-)
