Best Purchase to date
I have had my share of audio interfaces, but the approach to the hardware; it's functionality; various applications and quality makes this until (Apollo 8 Quad2) the best piece of gear in my studio.
On top of providing the users with the online store, this product cannot be beat.
For the price and the quality, no one is touching UAD right now.
Well done.

Apollo 8 Quad
This interface is awesome. It sounds great, it's super stable and the software is very efficient. Add to all of that the ability to print your UA plugins at the inputs, for me this unit is a real workhorse in a pro environment!

UAD = quality!
A tool that enhances the quality of the studio and performances. The plugins are perfect for both instrumental and with vocals. UAD = quality!

Smooth sounding interface
I have owned interfaces from RME, Apogee and Focusrite to name a few. The Apollo 8 beats them all, stable drivers and the best plugins available. Very analog sounding, better headphone amps. If your looking for a audio interface in the upper range, look no further.
You will not be disappointed with the Apollo 8. Thumbs up from me!

I wish I had moved to the apollo sooner. I am just getting started with apollo and the plug-ins, but so far my expectations have been exceeded. I each time I work with apollo I get the sweet surprise of the sounds I wanted with less effort than before!!

Satisfied Overall
The unit sounds good to me. Of course, I enjoy my collection and function of UAD plugins. Here are my main judgements:
Pros:
-Sufficient i/o for my needs
-Ample flexibility of console software
-Quality audio AD/DA...I'm not too fussy about that
Cons:
-For a metallic box, I would have preferred metal buttons and knobs. The plastic feel of the volume knob is a bit awkward.
-Proprietary power cord. I would have preferred a standard IEC cable.
I've only owned this unit for a month (upgraded from Apollo Twin), and will update this review after I put more hours in.

Amazing!
My Pro-Tools 12 rig was immediately stable after I swapped my Duet out for the Apollo8, it sounds great and plug ins are even better! I can't believe how much this one piece of gear with access to the UAD plug ins have improved the quality and depth of my mixing. Can't wait to get my satellite!

Love it
The plugs sound different than any other I've used - you can really hear the difference, they just feel more present and lively, visceral and real. For me that's inspiring when I am trying to get sounds or write.
I like the console app, it let's me work fast and I like to just print everything wet into my DAW. Routing on the console is limited however, it would be cool to be able to capture sends or basic bussing to the DAW. Overall I'm very happy and happy to support a company that has made such a solid digital platform.

New Classic
I had to purchase the new Apollo 8 after having the Duo for the last year and a half and I highly recommend it to anyone I talk to… all UA stuff… it sounds amazing. I like the front panel controls and the extra pres and inputs on the 8. It is the centre piece of my home studio and I won't have to get anything else for a long time… highly recommended.

Buena compra!!
Tiene todas las herramientas necesarias para un trabajo de calidad. Solo espero que hagan drivers para Windows, me seria muy util ahi tambien.

Excellent+++++
I already have the old version and this new version brings a clarity in the sound even smoother even if the old version remains excellent too.

Pretty nice
I give this piece 4 stars because it functions well. The unison technology is nice. Is it the "be all end all" of recording? Not really. The pres without any plugins sound pretty nice themselves. No real use for the unison. Granted I only tried the 610 and the neve 88r plugin. I have the api and the 1073, but have yet to use them. I use this piece mainly as an extra set of pres and for its processing power. Actually works quite well as just that. Lack of aggregate support kills this piece for me. I wanted to integrate the Apollo with my Symphony system. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work in aggregate. Clocked to the symphony it is pretty nice sounding. Haven’t tried it clocked internally, but I am told it is nice as well.

Time for an upgrade!
I've always enjoyed UA products (I have a 6176) and a few of my friends own UA products. So when it was time to upgrade my studio, everyone suggested the UA Apollo 8 Tunderbolt. This was the best decision/investment I've made! It's so classic, and the mic preamps are wonderful, giving you that warm analog sound! I plan to purchase another one (perhaps the Apollo Twin or 8p) by the end of the year!

AWESOME!! Best interface ever.
I recently upgraded from the Apollo twin because of the sweet offer UA was having with a rack mount plus free satellite. I can honestly say that the quality is amazing I noticed a big difference in my projects in how detailed the sound is witch is incredible. This has been the biggest impact on my music in upgrading to universal audio and I plan to experiment with up and coming plugins in the near future. If you are on the subject on upgrading your audio interface and came across universal audio, well I can tell you, you will not be disappointed. Amazing sound quality for price that is equivalent to its name.

thunderbolt cable
it would be nice to have thunderbolt cable with it.
so it's really a ready to use ship in box.
other than that is the best interface ever.
If the console 2 can arrange the core audio track in the setting by dragging or even choose NOT ONLY 8, 16, 32, 64 ,128 in/out number would be perfect.

Apollo 8 Duo (eurorack modular user)
I've recorded for years using a Yamaha AW4416 hard disk recorder and liked it pretty well. But I've had an itch to try bridging my world of analog synthesis with Ableton Live. I got the Apollo and Live in the same week and am working to wrap my head around all the possibilities. The ability to use plugins in real time is completely revolutionary to my workflow. I've gone a bit nuts in the UAD store and picked up a slew of plugins. Each is like a magical adventure. Things sound so crisp now and my Mackie HR824s have never been happier! I've also begun exploring the world of lightpipe communications between my Mac/Apollo/Expert Sleepers ES3/6, and modular using Silent Way. This ecosystem is VAST and my Apollo is the centerpiece. Well pleased.
