I'm just thinking these products (Stutter + Ampex), are just changing my life.
It's really un explanable more than "You put it on, and you feel better".
So That's, was the "musical feeling" in studios. And knowing you've got this, at your home studio, you can rivalise with the Big studios in mixing, that's such a huge step for producers kinds.

Must have Saturation

Simple and effective
It's amazing how easy and fast it is to make it sound good. I had some great results creating over saturated vocals and drums but where this plugin really shines in my opinion is on heavy distorted guitars. Instant fatness and weight plus some harshness reduction. Fantastic and super intuitive.

classic
being an electronic musician, it took me a while to understand what to do with it (besides classic delays). it really tickens and smoothen most electronic source and I find it very handy for that.

Fat, smooth but with great attitude!
A great sounding tape tool, there's some serious muscles in this one.
Great on all sources, use it a lot to make delays or reverbs more alive. Cheers

My "must have" plugin.
My mix just doesn't sound finished until this juicy bad boy is on my master bus. I have all the other tape plugins and the AMPEX sounds the best, HANDS DOWN.

You need oxygen for your master bus, well... here it is!
You need at least one Tape Recorder software in your arsenal. If you can get this one, get it!

Warmth and character
When i first pulled up the Oxide tape on a vocaltrack i was blown away by its character and heartwarming touch to vocals. I also use it alot on synths and horns. It has become a secret weapon for me when instruments or vocals need a little "hugh" from the magnetic tape domain. A pretty handy little thing.

Fantastic Tape Emulation, unique sound
After having tried the demo of the ATR-102 several times.. I had no choice but to buy it when I got the chance. It does SOMETHING that no other plugin can do, bringing the perfect amount of glue, compression, cohesiveness, and harmonic enhancement to either individual tracks of the whole mix. I would recommend getting this one first over the STUDER, but they are both very good. Amazing plugin!

Great plugin!
Gives the analog warmth to your tracks. Must have in your studio!

Excellent!
I love the life this plug-in brings into my tracks! Putting the Studer on my individual tracks and this on the master gives an amazing sound! Great job on this one!

Great sound/non-native language
Sounds great but, controls are a little awkward. Controls are not setup like other tape echo plugins so, it took a little work to understand.

Ampex ATR-102 is the Best! No Question!
I’ve used the real deal. Whenever I load the plug I wanna align the machine… It’s funny. I guess it just seems that real. I have other tape emulation plug-ins and the UAD smokes em all. When you decided to slap it on the end of a mix it’ll shock you every time and you'll wonder why you didn’t add it on sooner. This is absolutley one of my desert island plug-ins. Play with the high-end adjustments. Try it with the noise in and out too. The Ampex is the best tape emulator I’ve used and I bet it’ll be yours too! Great job UA! It's really one there very best! GET IT! - Gilroy

Secret weapon
I didn't have the luxury of working with the original hardware, so I'm going to go purely on how this 'feels' and 'sounds' to me... this thing brings out many of the wonderful textures of tracks that might be hidden in the digital depths. I tend to not hit it too hard in most cases, just adding a little bit of sweeting. But as many will attest to, this thing is a cumulative effect across all the tracks. Especially going into the Ampex.

Sound-Design Echo number one
My friend ROLAND and I like this plug-in very much!
I use these unit a lot for Sound-Design. Very Sci-Fiish sound and so if you need. Or for a crappy Bass-Solo a la Mr. Gene Simmons. Very nice also the Spring Reverb on it.

Definitely one of the indispensable plugins to acquire!
It has served me well to give that great final color to my recent productions for short films, and also to emulate the sound of some films around the 60s - 70s.
Wonderful!

I like it, but...
Look, I'll say this off the bat to make it clear, this plugin sounds really excellent. This is not cheap sounding at all and I did, in fact, buy it because I liked it well enough to think it would get some significant use. It sounds like real tape. That said, I just think some of the native options sound better (to my ears). I did a shootout with the Slate VTM and Softube Tape native plugins on my own material in my own studio. I had to get it about as close as possible because none of them work the same way. Of the three, I liked Softube Tape the most followed by Slate. What I DO think this plugin crushes the other two in, however, is the calibration capabilities and the global option to apply a change made on one instance to ALL instances. That's brilliant. Sonically, I prefer the native options, but control-wise, this thing is king. I like it.
