not my go-to, but still handy to have in the toolbox
i use this plug on more subtle instruments & voc. i would reach for the LA-2 or the 1176 most of the time, before i use the Fairchild, but still has it's place.

good tool to have, at a good price instead of paying 50k for the hardware. Pair it with the 1176 and LA2A and your on your way.

Came for the 'lo-end' trick, stayed for the MEQ-5's lo-mid boosts
I love that there is the Legacy version for quick work and high instance counts. But when the situation calls, this tool is just a work of art. Only gripe is I wish there was a module combining all 3 units! Best Pultec emu I've ever used though. Great job UA!

He comparado esta nueva version con la legasy , y me ha resultado gratamente mas suave y mas puntual en cuanto a los seteos en sus respectivas freuencias...., no he probado el hardware, pero este es un gran Equalizador... lo uso para el buss de la mezcla y el buss de la Bateria, el filtro es un gran hayazgo, decearia la posibilidad de usar los tres juntos en rack... con un solo click... !!!

favorite Old EQ
This is a very favorite plug-ins. I use frequently when you mix.It is especially base and vocals often.Anytime you come perfect track. Operation is also recommended simple.

I am lazy
I find alot of the time now especialy with limiters and compressors I want to open a unit and quickly find a preset that does the job. Maybe a little bit of a tweak here and there but ill prob come back and get picky later on.The AE was the one i have used the most ( ive only just bought them ) and click , click ,click i've found the setting I want .
I hope i'm not shocking anyone when I say that I also don't want a list of presets that scroll off the screen.
Just what the 1176s have got is good - few settings to get you started or to get you looking in a particular direction.

NOT HAPPY AT ALL
I PURCHASED THESE 2 PLUG FROM MY COMPUTER CENTRAL AND I THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE AUTHORIZATION SECONDARY STATION.
I HAVE SENT SEVERAL TRANSFER AGENT FOR PERMITS A POSITION ON THE OTHER BUT I HAVE NEVER BEEN ANSWERED.
PLEASE GIVE ME THE PROCEDURE TO RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM;

Exactly as expected
Even if I haven't really tried them very hard yet, they're exactly what I was looking for.
I work mainly on electronic music, and the 1176 is great for synths and drums.
Very happy with them so far!

Great sound
Now, I am not a professional mixing engineer, I only do this as a hobby but I am a professionally-trained musician with good ears. And I can say that this is a huuuuge improvement over the legacy plugin. The legacy version used to be quite harsh and bland in the highs. This is different now - totally smooth and "analogue", even without turning any knob. I only give it 4 stars as I would have wished for a one-rack possibility. I find it quite a hassle to load the three plugs into three different slots, then opening them up one by one to get an overview.

Love the silver
Love the faster time constants on the silver. I use it a lot on vocals and other sources. The mkii collection adds some nice extra special magic on crucial tracks over the original la2a.

Great but not 5star
If you don't have a quad or octo do not get these or any UAD plugs. These eat up 8% of the dsp for the Twin Duo every instance of the plug.
Also UAD has yet to release high resolution images for the plugs for anyone running a 4-5k monitor. They look super blury.
They sound great though if you have the power to run more than a couple of them. Way more like gear than the waves version.

Makes a classic more versatile
An improved model of the harmonic character of a studio classic. The different versions offer different time constants for a bit of fine tuning for any particular source.
The emphasis screw is a great addition to tailoring the plugin to a stubborn sound.
I actually like the smaller GUI from the legacy versions, since they take up less screen space and there's just no need to have them be this big; it's not like it's actual hardware that needs room for transformers and tubes. but that's not a big deal.

These plug-in's are great. The 1176LN is my go-to for my drum buss compression. I use the non plug-on version of hte 1176 quite often and it's safe to say these plug-in's get you 80% of the way there. They are EASILY the best plug-in emulations available though. Worth the investment.
